It is a common term for most of the kidney related diseases. Glomerulonephritis could be due to a sudden attack or it might build up gradually. There are two types of Glomerulonephritis. When the Glomerulonephritis occurs on it’s own, it is said to be primary Glomerulonephritis whereas if it is due to diseases like lupus or diabetes, it is termed as secondary glomerulonephritis. The treatment usually depends upon the type of glomerulonephritis for which kidney biopsy is required.

Renal transplant is offered to patients with advanced stage 5 CKD. It is the best mode of treatment available presently for advanced kidney disease. He/she needs to be on dialysis either hemodilayis or peritoneal dialysis till he gets kidney transplant done. A donor is required for a kidney transplantation. The patient can survive with a single kidney which is transplanted, and he will be off any form of dialysis.

A tissue from the kidney will be taken out and examined under microscope to diagnose certain kidney diseases. These tests will help to identify the exact kidney disease and treatment options.
